It’s shocking how many attics look like this.  Through the years, the insulation has been disturbed so it is not insulating, plus it’s really dirty from the outside air.

The existing insulation has been removed and spray foam installed. The attic is now cool,  clean, and sealed from outside dirt and allergens.

BEFORE RETROFIT

AFTER RETROFIT

Think of the “unvented attic” as a foam cooler placed over the top of your house.  It stops over 90% of the sun’s radiation and, when installed properly, virtually all the air infiltration. The AC equipment and ducts in the attic are cool, reducing both the load on the AC and the tonnage needed.

Typical Florida vented attics reach over 130 degrees on a regular basis (we have seen as high as 160 degrees).  In the unvented attic system the attic is normally about 5-8 degrees warmer that the house.  Building Performance Services supplies a wireless temperature and humidity monitor on all jobs so homeowner will see any changes which typically indicate a breach in the spray foam by service people or critters.  Since even a small hole will effect the home’s comfort and efficiency, this monitoring is a must have feature.

Spray Foam is the best insulation money can buy.

Create an unvented attic system with spray foam insulation.

The unvented attic system

is equally effective in

new homes or as an insulation retrofit for existing homes.

“I have spent my life in the construction industry and spray foam insulation is the first ‘no brainer’ product I have seen. Spray foam is the reason I became an insulation contractor.”
